Hi All,
I built myself a new machine as described in my sig with Windows 2000. I have a Maxtor 250GB sata hard disk but Windows is unable to recognize all the 250GB. Both my bios and OS are seeing only 130GB. I know this is some legacy problem with older OS but I am surprised how my bios is also seeing the same.
Any suggestion?
Thanks

BTW: I have SP4 with WIn2K

BIOS update is mandatory, and then you still need to perform a registry tweak. SP4 alone doesn't cut it. Microsoft has an article on it in the knowledge base.

Thanks Guys, This mobo is quite new in the market so I didnt think it needed a bios update, but will try with latest released version though.
What are the registry tweak I should do? Any details would be helpful.

You need to enable 48-bit LBA. Search for this for the OS you have, and you won't have a problem at all.

Meh. I guess if that works and is easy. :) Its an OS thing, as others have said that requires some tweaking but its not a big deal.
