Win2k ACPI and Overclocking

I just found out by the first hand experience that Win2k ACPI and overclocking don't mix well.
Running Win2k without ACPI actually makes my overclocked T-bird system absolutely stable. It even allowed my cpu to run at lower voltage.

i'm on a duron 700@850 and have no problems with windows2000 and ACPI. i run at 1.75V, but the cooling that ACPI mode gives me in widows2000 is great - 28C at idle and 42C full load.

once i get my new vantec HSF, i'm expecting the full load temps to drop into the mid 30's too 🙂.
