FYI...
Anyone who was trying to setup the dnet client as a service with the executeable/ini located remotely and recieved the "Access Denied" error (even though the service account has correct permissions) should install SP2.
The KB article is here. It only states a hotfix is available, but this fix was included in SP2.
This will certainly make large network installs easier to manage. 🙂
