I've gone and done something I've never done before.....add to it that I'm having a "brain fart" or something......I got a new system up for a friend and loaded Win2K......if I load 98SE now, will I lose 2K? If theirs a way to load 98SE and still have 2K accessable how the heck do I do it? (maybe a few to many Budskys tonight but I have to get this done!) :);)

Depends.........You need a DOS based boot partition. If Win2k is installed on NTFS, on the "C" partition, you're screwed. If Win2k is on a FAT32 partition ("C") and you have an empty partition, you're golden.

Install Win98 in the empty partition. When finished, you will only be able to boot to Win98. Then boot from the Win2k CD and start the install. Choose to do a "repair". Then select to repair the Boot and Startup files. That should do it.

as long as you have a fat boot partition then you can install win98, but you will have to repair the master boot record with your repair disk.
