Win2000/WinXP - Hiberfil.sys

It is the file created when you use Hibernation features in Win2k/XP.
It is where Windows stores all of your current data that you have open if your machine goes into hibernation.


If you use hibernation, leave it alone, if you dont, trash it.
 
this would be appropriate for a laptop but not for my desktop.
i think i want to get rid of it. should be under power options, right?
