Win2000 Problem

I just did a clean install of windows 2000 with NTFS formatting with SP1 and the hotfixes.. My problem is that it takes forever to load initially and even after everything is seemingly loaded the hard drive is still busy and it constantly checks the A: drive.. Any suggestions?
Thanks

I know in win98 the A: drive will attempt to read constantly when you have a lot of stuff in your recently opened documents folder in the start menu. Just clear that and you should be good to go.

Well clearing my documents didnt work... It trys to access my floppy drive all the time.. Any windows200 specific suggestions comments?? I'm gonna try redoing it again soon...
Thanks

I found the problem.... Norton Antivirus 2000 auto protect file showed cpu activity on the task manager in every instance of floppy drive activity.. So i just disabled auto protect..

You really don't have to disable NAV auto-protect completely to solve the problem. Just disable the floppy auto-scan on boot/reboot in the preferences screen.
