In detail:
We used to have Windows 98 Second Edition, with one large FAT32 partition installed on these machines. They were then formatted again, and split into two seperate partitions: (1) 8GB FAT32 and another 2GB FAT32, running Windows 2000 Pro. I ran a Virus Scan program (specifically, the one the Mod mentioned at the top of each forum today), and it stated:
Master Boot Record: Windows 95 OSR2
Below that, it stated something about Boot Record: Win 2000, or something similar to that.
I was curious why 95/98 was still being displayed when the machine was formatted ages ago.
The question I have: How would I make it so the master boot record would no longer say 95 OSR2, and instead have a master boot record for NT? I doubt using a 98 boot up disk and typing "fisk /mbr" would do this, as it would still have a 98 mbr. Is there a way with Win 2000?
I hope that's enough detail for you. If you have any questions please ask.
Thanks!
