Win2000 not remembering my video card settings - Update

I'm having problems with Win2000 and my GeForce2 Ultra. I set the CoolBits dword in the registry so I get access to the core and memory clock settings. I can set the frequencies ok, but when I do a restart the clock settings are back to the defaults. The "Apply" box is still checked. I've tried driver versions from 7.58 to 12.00 with the same problem. WinXP also has the same problem, which isn't surprising since it's based on Win2000. I know this doesn't seem to be an uncommon problem, but it does seem to work ok for many. I haven't found any tips to solve the problem other than use Powerstrip or nvmax. Anyone have any other ideas?? Thanks.

I'm using a KT7A motherboard. Could this be due to using a via based motherboard rather than intel? Anyone got this working with a KT133 or KT133A chipset?

try a search, many people have had this problem, but no avail. i dont even know how to fix it as i have never had this problem. oh wait.. only with beta drivers.. try the official 6.50.. i dunno..
