Ok, let me first state I am on a university lan and I have two computers. I want to share 1 of my partitions on my CS server with my other computer. However, I want to be the only one who can access it. I tried enabling sharing but could only get permissions that allowed Everyone or Administrators. I tried setting the permissions such that only the computer within my workgroup and specific computer name could access that drive but I got the following error: "Unable to lookup user names for display." Is there a way to get it such that only computers with certain names and within a specific workgroup have permission for that drive? What about mapping network drives? How can I set that up such that I can be the only one to access it, etc?

Any web sites that would provide this type of info?

Thanks.

If you are going to specify your machine name, you will have to have Active Directory installed. If you want to only your account to access the share, then what I would do is on the server that you have the share on, create an account for yourself. When you share the folder, remove the Everyone and the Administrator account, then add only yourself with FULL Permissions.

If you are still having problems, then repost.
