Win2000 Hibernate Restart Problem

I am using a FIC AD11 mobo (AMD 761 / VIA chipsets). The mobo supports ACPI and Hibernate is an option in Windows. It hibernates fine.

However, when I try to restart, it hangs at the password prompt into Windows. I must restart and delete the hibernate data.

Microsoft knowledge base says this was fixed for VIA in SP2, which I have. Does anyone know if there is a needed AGP driver fix for the 761 chipset? I am using the latest that AMD provides (5.22). Anything else I can try?

Thx.

I have a Gigabyte 7DX (Rev3.0) mobo with the AMD761/VIA686B chipset - I am also using Win2k. When I ask the computer to shutdown, the computer completes shutdown but then automatically restarts. I have tried the hibernate option but that fails to work.

I have installed SP2 as well and still occassionally have this problem. So far I have found no permanent solution. My computer is also ACPI compliant.

While my problems are somewhat different than yours - I feel there is a common thread of problems related to whatever is at fault (Win2K).
