Hello All,
I have a DVD issue that is really bothering me. I used to be using Windows 98 with a Riva TNT2 32meg video card. I use Ravisent DVD Player for playback of my movies. In Windows98 I was able to do full screen with no problem. The picture was smooth, the audio crisp, nothing to worry about. Now, since I upgraded to Windows 2000, I went to load Cinemaster and it wouldn't work. So I went to Ravisent's website and downloaded the upgrade for Windows 2000. Now the video comes up but it's really chunky. I went to the settings and found out that "Decode and down-mix to 2 Channels" is selected. Simple enough, go and select SB Live! Wave Device and be off. But when I check that it comes up that it can't find the requested device and is resorting back to the 2-channel.(Note: After updating the drivers, that message doesn't come up, but no sound happens when it is selected.) I have also change resolutions on my desktop to see if that would help, but to no avail. Does anybody have any ideas? I do have DirectX 8.1 and I just downloaded the newest Detonator drivers. Currently I'm d/l the SB Live drivers. Or does anybody know of another DVD player I should try...preferably cheap?
thx
Josh
