Win2000 Changing IRQs

I changed Advanced Config....under the Computer tab to standard PC. Now how do I manually set the IRQs of my devices. I know it's a stupid question but the use auto settings and Change settings options in device manager is greyed out. I think I'm missing something. Do I have to disable Microsoft ACPI under non plug-n-play devices? I have Win2000...

Thanks

No one seems to be anwering this question in all the other threads. They all say change to standard pc to manualy change your irq's but Im alos having the same problem. How the heck do I change them! Everything is greyed out and beofre I started looking on this site to see what to do I was already in "standard pc " mode. So I have two questions: 1 . Who knows how to change IRQ'z in standard pc mode; 2. Do you think its ok to switch to ACPI and see what happens. The reason I want to change is because my scanner hangs or freezes when the lamp is warming up and my ethernet card are sharing the same IRQ. Believe me I have tried everything else about the scanner and this has got to be my problem. Read my other thread on it if you like http://forums.anandtech.com/messageview.cfm?catid=34&threadid=370336

Yes one more thing. My board can handle acpi so if i do choose this route... how should i go about it. change it in my bios first or just update the driver?
