Win2000 and sending email.

Hello to all,
Having a problem with 2000..
Cannot get any email prog. to send mail..will just pick up mail.
I try and it will just start to send..then stop and hang until I stop the process.
I boot to ME or 98..no problems sending.
Any ideas on this one??
