Win2000 and D3D problems...

I have been a bit out of the loop for a while when it comes to info on Win2000 and such.

I have found that many of my D3D accelerated games have a tendancy to crash back to windows or freeze entirely. (Shogo and Daikatana demo to name two. Haven't tried UT yet).

Is this a problem with windows and DX7, or what?

My system: p3 650 @ 936, 256 cas2 RAM @ 144MHz, Leadtek GeforceDDR w/ det 5.32, SBLive! Platinum w/ Liveware3, WD 20.5GB 7200RPM ATA66 hard drive.

Or is it just an unlucky combination of hardware on my part?

Any bets on this being fixed by Win2k SP1 and/or DX8 (full, not beta)?

...thanks
