Win10 x86 drivers (mainly GFX)

I have some old Win 98 and older programs that are irreplaceable but need to run on a new computer. These programs are old story book type Disney games my disabled daughter loves.

They run great on Windows 10 32 bit (several programs are 16 bit, so I can't run 64 bit). Windows 10 helps me allow these programs to run on a modern Widescreen touch screen monitor without the scaling issues I've seen in XP, 7 & 8.1. I was surprised actually.

Currently they reside on a computer I built using Haswell era hardware. Recently a lightning strike took out the motherboard, requiring replacement.

That made me look into a new backup computer. I was looking at Skylake and Kaby Lake setups in order to buy the newest hardware available. However, none of the stuff newer than Haswell seems to support 32 bit Windows 10 from a driver perspective. Am I wrong there? Or do I need to buy more Haswell stuff while I can still find it.

Can I use the Win7X86 drivers? I'm not trying to use obscure hardware here, just a super simple box to run super simple games.

Anyone have experience with a AMD box running Win10X86?

Thanks!

I am not sure that I see the Problem.

Get a nice LG1150 Mobo and CPU and install your specials on it,

Less then $100 and problem solved.

If some thing happened to my Fiat 500 it does not mean that I have to switch to Ferrari. ;)

I couldn't find graphics drivers for any Intel graphics for stuff newer than Haswell. I know windows usually does a decent job of installing generic drivers in recent versions, but without actual drivers these programs don't run well.

I've tried dedicated cards in the past and while usually AMD cards work okay, NVIDIA cards will BSOD every time. Not sure why.

It's not like I have to have the latest and greatest stuff for 20+ year old software. I know that. Hell, I had this stuff running well on an Atom processor for a while. I was only looking at LGA1151 Skylake and Kaby Lake to keep hardware availability high for a while. Plus it's hard to not want the latest and greatest stuff.

I suppose the best thing may just be buy some LGA 1150/Haswell stuff. I know that works.

There exists 32-bit Intel GPU drivers for Skylake + Windows 7, but apparently not for Windows 10 or for Kabylake:

There's also the option of running Win XP 32-bit as a virtual machine on 64-bit Windows 10, using Oracle VirtualBox (free) or other similar software.

Actually, a much better solution to your issue is to use virtualization.
You can use win98 itself as well.
The host OS can be 64bit versions of linux or WIn 10.
Once you have everything installed and working, you can copy the whole VM someplace safe, and if something bad happens (virus/malware/whatever) you can just blow that one away, and just copy over it.

To bad Microsoft retroactively disabled the ability to get updates on Skylake+Windows7.

Why don't you throw out all that old crappy software and download the latest hot apps from the Windows Store onto your new kabylake system?

Seriously though, virtualization is probably your best bet if you want to keep running things without the carpet being pulled out from under you.

It does look like there are Ryzen 32-bit drivers just from browsing Asrock's site briefly. You'd need a video card as well for that platform.

Incorrect. It's only Kabylake CPU's that would be denied getting Win7 updates.
Although potentially, there may be some registry "doctoring" that would re-enable updates for Kabylake.
