Run this command:

Code:
explorer shell:AppsFolder

drag calculator out of that window to create a shortcut
right-click shortcut, properties, attach whatever shortcut key you want to it.

(PS: I've never actually used that keyboard shortcut feature, just tried it on 1903)

Many of the newer keyboards have a shortcut key for the calculator or it can be re-directed
This. With my keyboard and its software they are called macros. I used to have one set up for calculator, notepad, opening a new tab in firefox and the firefox address bar.

The keyboards I'm thinking of are gaming keyboards. I do know you can hit the windows key and type type calc (you probably don't even have to type the entire word and when it comes up hit enter and it will start. I don't have a ton of programs installed and I only have to hit windows, c and enter.

Or this may be what your looking for. Try "way 6" here. https://howtoway.com/open-calculator-in-windows-10/

if you are using classic/open shell, just go into apps then right click on calculator and choose create shortcut. It will say it can't and ask if you want it on the desktop. click yes and you are done.

yup, i downloaded it and installed it.
so what does SYMBOLS file do?

also, i've forgotten that im using the classic (WinXP) start menu in Win7.
so still using the WinXP start menu in Win10.
Long Live WinXP :p
On a new install of win10 just use open shell. The options available are literally enormous. You can tune a lot of features with open shell.

I'm surprised nobody mentioned by far the easiest way to add any software's, including Windows' own, shortcut to the desktop. Just left-click the "Start" menu, then drag-and-drop the Calculator icon onto the desktop.
