Win Xp Window Effects problem.

I have a really irritating problem with win xp home edition. I change the Display settings>Appearance>Effects> Then i uncheck the box so that it doesnt display ANY transitional fade effect when i minimize the window.

But somehow it keeps reverting itself when i run certain programs like photoshop or pemeire. I mean COME ON! who wants to watch a laggy slow effect when they minimize a window as opposed to an instant pop* up.

Anyone know a way to fix this? Even when i disable themes, the effect is still there and impossible to get rid of without coming back automatically.
