Win XP-start menu-sort by name automatically?

When adding new programs is there a way to have the start menu sort them automatically. I know it is only a few mouse clicks to get it where I want it but when I first installed XP it did this automatically for a few days and now all the new programs just show up at the end of the list. I still have new programs highlighted and dont believe I changed anything with the start menu. So is what I am asking for possible???
 
Not really.

Simply right click on any program (not folder) in the Start Menu, and select Sort by Name. That's the fastest way to get it sorted.
