Win XP question

Sorry for the vague title, but...

Here's the situation. We have three different "identities" on our Win XP computer. If I log in under my name and start a large download or something, because of my putt-putt 56k connection I'll usually walk away. But after awhile, I come back and the screen saver is on. If I move the mouse, it's back to the login screen (of WinXP), and next to my name it'll say "2 programs running" or something. Now, if I click on my name, the file download window will still be open.

My question is, will it continue downloading even if I walk away like that and the screensaver comes on? Or does it like, log me out, and thus pause the download? That would be super-annoying.

The screen saver merely covers the screen, it doesn't stop whatever else might be running, AFAIK. In other words, you should be fine. On the other hand, you can just turn the screen saver off. On todays monitors they aren't really necessary IMHO (some may disagree).

No, XP supports fast user switching (the logon screen you refered to). As such your programs are still running (still downloading in this case) even while the screen saver is on or if someone logged in under a different account.
