I've been messing w/ my settings and ugh I've seemes to mess my comp up. I need to find a way to access safe mode in WinXP home or a clean boot to windows. Or some other way to solve my prob. I get the following error msg with a whole load of diff file names and it keeps popping up. And afterward my comp is unusable.
Windows Delayed Write Failed:
Windowws was unable to use all the data for the file 123.xxx. The data has been lost. This error maybe caused by as failure of comp hardware or a network connection failure. Please try to save this file elsewhere.

Any ideas?

As your comp is booting---before it gets to the splash screen, hit F8 which takes to the screen where you can start via safe mode. Once windows starts up, go to Start--->Programs--->Accessories--->System tools--->System restore. Follow the wizard to restore to an earlier point.

To access 'safe-mode' you push F8 after the computer posts. Run in safe mode then run system restore and restore the computer to a point before you started 'playing' with the settings
