win XP Pro Sound Settings

I was changing some sound settings and I believe I turned something called '3D Stereo Enhancement' on. I want to turn this off as it has a bit of echo effect, but I for got where it is.

Also, I changed something under Sounds and Audio Device Properties >> Sounds >> Sound scheme. There were 3 presets: the current without a name, No Sounds, and Windows Default. I -thought- it should be on Windows Default, so I changed it to that. Well I lost my 'Default Beep' under the Windows listing. It's not even listed there between Critical Stop and Device Connect anymore. The internal computer speaker beeps now instead of thru the external speaker. So, how do I get this listing back?

Sorry, I'm not using XP at the moment, but I believe the 3D Stereo Enhancement settings are usually dependent upon the sound card drivers and sound card model or integrated sound chips.

Also the DirectX drivers have Direct Sound capability but these shouldn't affect the 3D sound in my opinion. On my 2000 system I found them here: C:\Program Files\directx\setup

In your Control Panel, Sound and Multimedia properties you should have an Audio tab where Sound Playback is listed and an Advanced tab. Under there you may have additional speaker settings for the types and amount of speakers.

Otherwise, I don't know where the place to modify 3D Stereo Enhancement is found.

I think I just figured it out... I took out a Creative SB 64 and put in a SB Live w/Drive. The other computer that has the old SB 64 has the 3D Stereo option and with the SB Live and Audigy the 3D Stereo option has been replaced with a Digital Output only option.
