Win XP Pro / DSL Problem

Hi,

This used to work fine before, so I suspect that some Windows setting or something has changed. I was having problems recently whereby after I first booted up the PC, it would take 3-5 minutes after connecting to the internet (via ADSL connection) to actually load up a web page. This is the first problem.

The second problem is that whenever I switch users, Windows disconnects my internet connection and I am forced to re-connect. It used to maintain the connection no matter who I was logged on as...

Any ideas?

On the first thing check this post here.

As for the second:

Do you have to login with any software or programs do get on the internet?
If so it probably cannot be avoided having to reconnect each time to switch users or login/logoff.

Thanks for the reply. THe link to the post was helpful for a different reason, but it's not really the problem I was referring to. My first problem was after I connected to the Internet, not on bootup.

As for the second, like I mentioned, it definitely did work before. I'm not using any external software.. It's a PPPoE connection using the built-in Windows XP functionality.
