Win XP PRO doesn't load when boot sequence is changed? How do I install over 2k?

Hey all, I really want to install XP. I changed the boot sequence of my pc to CDROM/C/A and the aspi fails to load the cd, I guess cause I got it from a friend. It won't load so I don't know what to do. I think I wanna install NTFS cause it's faster right? Or do I install FAT32? If I use FAT32 I can boot up with a floppy, with cdrom support, then load the cd and install that way right? Or if I use NTFS do I want to just use windows to install, by doing a clean boot? PLS HELP. thx. (I am going from win 2k to win xp)

i'm pretty sure if you have win2k running, you can just put the XP cd in and instead of choosing "upgrade" just force it to format and install XP over your current win2k partition. you can choose fat32 or ntfs at that point.
