Win XP Pro and XP 64 bit dual boot?

I finally upgraded to a 64 bit processor. I am currently running Windows XP Pro. I went to Microsofts web page, signed up and downloaded a 180 day trial of XP 64 bit. Can I dual boot Win XP Pro and XP 64 bit?

I want to dual boot in case I cant afford to buy XP 64 bit when it comes out so I dont have to reformat etc.

Thanks

yes. some 32 bit apps dont work on x64 though and antivirus is more selective as well. Most people frown on symantec anymore but there is a corp 10.02 version for x64 that is pretty safe.

It's already out. Though I think you'll find that poor driver support, and the inability to run certain programs, is a pretty big buzzkill.

As already stated: yes, you can dual-boot, and yes you'll have to install things separately.

I think my ISO is messed up or something is wrong. I tried to install and it just boots into win XP Pro. I get the option to boot from CD, select it and it goes into win XP.

sounds like your boot inf is messed up. You can change os boot priority within xp and it should then give you the option to boot either.

right click my comp/advanced/startup and recovery settings/default operating system....
set x64 to be the primary if it exists in the drop down. Maybe then you will get the option to boot from both os's.

Im not even able to get XP 64 bit to install. It wont let me install in Win XP Pro and says I have to re boot and install from CD. I set everything in my BIOS to boot from CD. The option comes up in POST and instead of going to the CD to boot and install it goes into Win XP Pro.

I used imageburn and got it to work. Was using Nero before and had no luck.

Any way to make it so when I "log off" windows xp or windows xp 64x it goes back to the boot menu screen. (where i get the option to choose between the two OS)
