Well, I don't know if it will help other projects, but my "score" for my cpu in ud went up from 128 or so to about 134 by going to Windows XP Pro from 2k Pro. Has anyone compared this? :)

I'm sure there are much cheaper upgrades that can improve your performance a lot more than buying windows xp. windows xp isnt exciting and new like 2k was, I still dont understand why people like it :(
95 was ok, 98 sucked, 2k is good, me sucked, xp sucks

unless of course you didnt actually pay for xp, then it's cheaper :p
but still I would personally upgrade some hardware before ever buying xp, and I'm sure you'll get better results....

<< 95 was ok, 98 sucked, 2k is good, me sucked, xp sucks >>

that should read "95 was ok, 98 sucked, 2k is good, me sucked big-time and is the biggest POS M$ ever released, xp is a flashy 2k" :)

But, saying that, i love Windows XP to bits. Things about it that i really like are the hiding of inactive icons in the taskbar, so instead of having half your screen filled with it, you can hide all the ones that just have to sit there. I also love the way that it groups together the different programs, and puts them all into 1 bit when there are too many things on the taskbar. It's little things like that that i like!

I don't think there would be any improvement with XP over 2k, if anything might be a *touch* slower due to the visual things, but nothing i've noticed, maybe a minute or 2 slower.

Having never had the 'pleasure' of installing ME (though I have used a few times on a work colleges PC) I've no real idea what it was like.
What didn't you like about it? ( I'll have pleasure winding the up the above about it;))

I haven't had too many problems with XP. Much better for me than 98, which is what I upgraded from.....
