Win XP Partition questions?

Planning to install Win XP Pro on two systems:
AMD 1.0 GHz T-bird, 30.0 GB HDD, 256 MB PC133
AMD 2000 XP, 40.0 GB HDD, 512 PC2700

For each system, I'd like to place just the Win XP Pro O/S on the c: partition and have all other progs, apps, & files on the d: partition.

My main question is what partition sizes should I split each systems HDD into?

Also, is it wise to just place the Win XP Pro O/S on the c: partition or should I install standard progs such as Office XP there too.

Lastly, would anyone recommend a dual boot setup with XP Pro and 2000 for stability purposes?

I would just install all the programs on the same partition as the OS since you can't transfer programs files to another syste. Store your data files on another partition.
I would dual boot if i have enough space. But winxp is pretty stable.

To run XP by itself with a few progs I use 2.0-2.5 gig. XP is stable for me but I like to tweak and so I keep it separate.
