hey guys,

after trying to solve this problme on my own I finally decided to come down here and ask for your help and advice. So here is the current situation. At home me and my flat mate have 2 laptops running Win XP Pro both of us have wifi cards for internet on the PCMCIA port. We want to be able to run a home network only through them (to play games or whatever). Is this actually possible? I mean I guess it is but I don't know how to do it.
We have tried by setting up an Ad Hoc on one of the PCs but it did not work. It is really frustrating cuz with the normal LAN cable the network works fine but when we try the wifi... uh it is not working. What do we do wrong?

Thanks ppl

If the two of you are using the same Internet connection with a Cable/DSL Router it is a matter of setting Windows Sharing.

Link to: Sharing Disk Drives Between Computers on Windows Network.

Otherwise you would have to configure both Laptops to Ad-HOC in order to talk one to the other, and then back to normal configuration when you would like to go back to the Internet.
