Win XP network security problems

I am connected to a star network and I re-installed Windows XP on Wednesday; now there are some folders on my PC that I can't access (they aren't important OS folders or anything of that sort). I can see the other computers on the network and can access all their folders, so I am perplexed as to why this is happening.
In the office we all have ADMIN priv; I have already ruled out the notion that someone blocked access....

Anyone have any ideas why this may happen and how I can fix it

Thanks

Assuming you didnt use EFS to encrypt the files, this sounds like a simple NTFS permissions problem.

Right click one of the folders in question, select properties and select the security tab. If that tab isnt present, go to tools>Folder Options>View Tab, and make sure the option "Simple File Sharing" is disabled (it's the last one on the list).

Now that you are at the security tab of the folder in question, hit advanced, then the Ownership tab. Make sure your current account is the owner, and check the box to propogate that setting to all child objects.
When that is done, go back to the security tab and put in your current account, full control permissions.
