Win XP / ME boot menu

I had an XP install error so I reverted back to ME, but now whenever I boot up, the XP setup option is still showing up. The "fdisk /mbr" command didn't seem to help, and I can't find a boot.ini file to edit--any suggestions on how to fix this? TIA

the only time I tried to do a dual boot it was with 98/2k (same concept as a ME/XP setup) and that did not work, though it was through some faults of my own and a bad HDD. Anyway, when I booted into 98, the boot.ini file was just under the main c: drive. When you double clicked on the c: icon, I got something like 5 directories, and 8 files and boot.ini was one of them. if that still does not work, try using the search to find that file under ME. hope that helps

This file is hidden by default. In the start menu select run and type in edit c:\boot.ini and this should open the boot file for you to edit.
