Friend of mine brought in a PC with malware issues. I booted in safemode, ran MBAM, rebooted in safemode and ran super anti spyware. After that I rebooted and the PC was boot cycling. I did a chkdsk/r from recov console. Then I did a full repair install. Now when I boot it up it says it needs to be activated. However he was having some issues with his NIC drivers, so if I push "yes activate now" it does nothing. Any suggestions?

It does not give that option. It just says "Do you want to activate now?" With "Yes" or "No" buttons. Yes it acts like its going to do something and freezes or reboots. No it logs out of windows.

Have you tried putting the NIC drivers on (use a USB key to transfer them)? Have you tried it with the network cable disconnected so that it would force it to offer you other options?
