Win XP: Making a Zip File

I have a 11.5 Meg quicktime movie of my baby that I'm trying to compress for distribution. I can make a "compressed folder" and then dump the file in there but I only get 6% compression. I guess I need to compress the file itself? How do I do this. I was hoping to get at least 50% compression...

Ideas?

By definition, the MPG file is already compressed. Your basically trying to recompress it again, which as you found won't work.
