I just bought a new computer with no OS installed. The hard drive is formatted and the CD drives are operational. I have the Win XP disc but am not sure how to initiate installation (no user manual). Under Win 98 (the last time I installed an OS) I used a startup disk and just used setup.exe to install. Do I use the same method for XP? If so, how do I create a startup disc. I tried using the same WIN 98 startup disc for this install, but I get the message that XP will not install under this method. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

in the bios set the first boot device to be your CD rom drive. save and exit. reboot with the XP CD in the drive and you should be good to go.
