I have a copy of Win XP Pro that I used when I first built my computer. I'm wondering if it would be possible to use this copy to install Win XP on a new system I'm building (same CD Key). Also, how many times you can reinstall the same cd key of Win XP, for instance, if I need to reformat my current rig.

If your question is "Can I install Windows on two computers?" The answer is no, you can not.

You can reinstall Windows an unlimited number of times on the same computer. You will need to activate after each fresh install. If you attempt to activate more than 3 times in 120 days, you will have to call Microsoft to activate. Usually a painless 5 minute affair.
