win xp IE view source

As mentioned in the title, i can no longer seem to view source in IE. i can't remember having changed any settings in IE at all. When i click on view and then source nothing happens. in the past notepad would open with the wepages source. I'm using win xp pro.

 
Open IE. Go to Tools -> Internet Options -> Programs tab. Ensure you have something slected for "HTML Editor", be it Notepad, Word or whatever.

Thanks EeyoreX. that was it. i installed visual studio .net a while ago and it seemed to have changed html viewer to visual studio without prompting.
