Win XP home upgrade now looks dual boot?

I upgraded (clean install with format of HD) my laptop from XP home to XP pro using an Retail XP upgrade. Now when i boot i have to choose from XP pro (which works) or XP home (which doesnt work even if selected).

Any ideas of changing that?

The Pro upgrade just added it's line to your boot.ini and didn't remove the old entry. Edit your boot.ini (it's a hidden file in your root C:\) and remove the entire line that references "XP Home".

If you don't feel comfortable manually doing that:

Right click on My Computer > Advanced Tab > Startup and Recovery Settings > Select Default Operating Sytem that has XP Pro in it > Then Uncheck "Time to display list of operating systems".

Click ok, and restart.

You are done.
