Win XP - folder windows won't open in same window

Alright, was playing around with changing my icons. For no apparent reason, in WIndows Explorer, using the open action on a folder causes it to open in a new Window. I've checked, in Folder Options, "Launch Folder Windows is a Seperate Process" is not checked, I tried checking it, and then unchecking it, didn't work. Also in Folder Options, Browse Folders - Open each in the same window" is selected. Tried creating a new action in the File Type for Folders, but it refuses to let me check the "Browse in the same window" box. Can anybody PLEASE help me out here? Is there some Registry setting that dictates this? I don't like it like this, nor do I feel like doing a reinstall over such a little thing...
