WIN XP Firewall alternative

I have read many responses on the web that WIN XP firewall is a joke. If that is the case which firewall program is good to use with WIN XP? Also do you have to disable the Firewall in XP before you use another program for this purpose?

Yes disable the one in XP before using a third party firewall,there are some free good firewalls like,

Sygate personal firewall 5.0


ZoneAlarm(at bottom of page )


Tiny firewall 3.0 .

Zone alarm has never caused me any problems. It's free, easy to use and seems to stop bad things happening

I've been using it two years and never been hacked/virused etc.
