MB is Gigabyte 7 VAXP with AMD 2000+ and 256 MB RAM.
I have several discs (SCSI IBM, SCSI Plextor reader, ZIP, DVD, IDE Plextor CD-RW, IBM 20 G IDE).
When I connect Seagate Barracuda 80 G, Win XP stop to load after initial screen.
With all other combinations of IDE drives Win XP works normal (when Barracuda is disconnected).
I tried with all positions, primary master, secondary, RAID single channel, ...

What is a problem ? How can I make it work ?

I noticed that there was a BIOS released at the beginning of this month. Don't know if it would help... Did you try putting the drive on a channel all by itself? Have you tried it on another machine with success? Are you using an 80-wire cable on it? I use only 80-wire IDE cables on recent mobos whether the drives need it or not...
