Please help me!
I have zonealarm antivirus installed. When I turn on the computer today, ZA tells me that it finds 4 worm virus, ask me if I want to delete them. I clicked yes without looking in details (so i don;t knwo which files are deleted). Then it reboots the computer. the bad thing is, after the reboot, my computer pops up a message: cannot find c:\windows\system32\rundll32.exe. Then, some of my desktop shortcut icons are gone wrong ( not the correct icons any more, they are standard icon, similar file not found something), but some icons are still ok. The taskbar icons are also gone wrong. The system tray is gone wrong too. If I click start->run, type in cmd.exe, it pops "cannot find cmd...". bacically, not matter what I type, it always says cannot find xxxxx.

I have tried search for the exefiles reg key, it seems right: "%1" %*

I have also tried to repair it with windows xp cd, but when it reached graphic interface, it pops up cannot find c:\windows\system32\rundll32.exe again and again. so no go here.

I am dead, please help me.

BTW, the rundll32.exe IS in c:\windows\system32 directory. I even expanded one from winodws cd, compared the files, they are identical....

I am dead, help me!

Thanks

Did you already try this?
It sounds like maybe you did.

ZoneAlarm is a firewall. You don't mention any antivirus application. Do you have one? If not, maybe you need to buy one. Kaspersky is one of the best. You need to clean out the infections.

There are some free online virus scanners but mostly they only DETECT infections but not remove them. Here is one: <a target=_blank class=ftalternatingbar...p://www.kaspersky.com/virusscanner</a>">Kaspersky.</a>
The "Stinger" downloads from here may help: Text

There are several other antivirus brands with free online scanners that might help you.
