Help! Now it's two of them! I have two home networks, one here and one at my inlaws. Both are running mixed O/S's. My system has a win2kpro (my wifes) and an Xp pro (mine). Before a hard drive crash, I had 2kpro also, and both machines could share printers and files. Now Her computer (win2kpro) can't see my xppro box, and vice versa. It also has a funky driver for my old H/P laserjet 5L. Shows set up, but won't print. Having the same o/s problem at my inlaws' house. One machine has 2kpro, and my father in laws' has xphome. They won't see each other either. I tried running the network setup in xp, and it said to make a setup disk for the other machine. Tried to run the setup disk on the win2kpro machine, and got an error message saying it only runs on 98, me, and xp.
HELP!

I don't think you need a setup disk as long as you are running XP or 2000. I have a 5 computer network with XP Pro on 2 of them, XP Home on one, 2000 Pro on one and 2000 Server on my server. Are you saying they won't see each other in My network places or are you trying to find a network share folder? Try to connect to share folder. One thing that comes to mind is they don't have the same Workgroup name.

No, I didn't know to turn off the firewall. Thanks, I'll try that, if I can figure out how!
