Recently installed Windows XP and was running great. I'm suprised on how fast it is on a P2 450MHZ. But anyways, I installed Systemworks Pro 2002 and now everything seems to be a lot slower. I looked at the processes to find the svchost.exe is taking 50-60% of my CPU Usage. Figuring that the only change I did was install Systemworks, I uninstalled it and everything went back to normal. I later reinstalled it to find the same problem exists. I was able to narrow down to what looks to be the source of the probem. If I disable Norton Antivirus on the taskbar, my CPU usage goes back to normal. But when I renable it, I'm back to 50-60% CPU Usage. Anyone have similar problems. Any ideas. This was a fresh install of Windows XP and a few other programs. Thanks

Hi!

I have the same prob with NAv on my athlon1600+
doe it take a long time to "load your desktop"?
as in all the icons are there but u press tha start buttion and it just "sinks"
and nothing happens for a few secs.?

the usage may be the NAV settings. i know if u create, modify, or open a file or even put a cd-in the cdrom it scans it u may tweak the options for that.

450's are too shabby for general works, and office stuff altho i haven't seen XP on one it should be fine BUT the biggest mess is when my emplyer put win 95 of a 486 33mHz with 16 megs of ram what a laff. it was Slooooooooooooow.

hope that may help!
