I just built a new rig with NF7-S , XP 1800+ , Crucial PC 2100 DDR, Maxtor 40 GB 7200 ATA 133 and Radeon 64 DDR VIVO. Two major problems came up. Installed Win 98 SE no problems, but I cannot get my cable connection up and running. I set up the TCP/IP protocol but zip, nada, nothing. So I went ahead and installed Win XP Pro (dual boot) thinking I could work my internet problems out with XP. Installed fine, went thru intro screens and bam, reboot. Now it will not open XP. I get the splash screen, but as soon as it goes to the welcome screen, my monitor goes blank. Win 98 still boots and runs fine! What's up??

I just installed the nf7-s for my computer. Perhaps you should try reinstalling WinXP again? About the cable thing, if you're using the onboard ethernet controller with WinXP, you have to install the drivers from the nf7-s cd. Under XP, I had quite a few Unknown devices in device manager until I popped in the CD and installed the hardware drivers. This cleared up device manager and listed the nForce Ethernet Controller.

I got it going, finally. My Radeon card was bugging XP. Put it in safe mode and downloaded the latest driver. Removed the network card and re-installed it and got connected. This one was a real pain! But she's rockin' now! Thanks for the help!
