Win XP + Abit KR7A-RAID = slow window dragging?

I just upgraded my computer to an Abit KR7A-RAID + Athlon XP 1600+ + Crucial 512 MB PC2100 CL2.5. I did a fresh install of WinXP. When I drag windows around there is a very long and annoying delay. When I untick "Show window contents while dragging" in the display effects, this goes away but I would much rather have this setting on. Any suggestions? This is really the only significant problem I have noticed.
 
I just realized that I never installed the latest Nvidia drivers. Still, would this even speed up such a primitive task as moving windows?
 
if you havent installed the most recent nvidia drivers, that should fix it. i had the same problems, web pages were horribly choppy when scrolling, menus jittery, etc.

installed drivers for my gf3 ti 200 (21.83's i think) on my xp1800 and dragon+ and the problem went away.
