This is a problem I overcame by using floppies to start the installation, but I just cant see where the problem is trying to use the CDROM setup by itself.

I have a SCSI RAID controller that requires the F6 prompt to install the drivers for installation. If I choose to boot to XP CD to start the installation, when it gets to the point where it wants the driver disk, it says XP did not detect a floppy disk drive.... I am using an LS120 drive for my A drive and it is selected in bios as first boot drive. But If I start the setup using the 6 floppy disks, it sees the LS120 as the first boot drive and installs XP just fine.
I would rather of course not wait for the slow progression of inserting the 6 disks and the driver disk just to get the setup started.

I have tried WinXP, Win2k, and Win2K Advanced Server and all three have the same result on this machine. Its a PIV on an 875 motherboard (Asus P4C800-E Deluxe).

I guess I can live with the inconvenience, but I just dont understand why Windows sees the floppy drive going floppy, but not with the CDROM install... rather confusing to me.

The only guess I have is the current download version of the floppy set for XP has a more updated .SIF file and drivers than the original CDROM?
