Running active directory. created a share on my network. want to connect a win ME machine to that share. everytime i try, i get a prompt for a password. i have no idea what what it wants.

And if you're using WinME good luck to your Sir. WinME is not LAN friendly. You'd be better of with Win98.

Oh and even if you do get it working, let me warn you about serious file-locking issues when mixing WinME and WinNT/2K/XP systems on the same network. Basically unless you install a patch WinME will have problems with file locking when accessing files shared from an NT-based OS.

Been there, done that.

Do a google search for more info.

Getting to the point that when I walk into a new client's office, if I see WinME computer I won't even consider working on the network unless that OS goes.
