WIN ME Upgrade installation question

Is it possible to do a clean install of WIN ME with the upgrade CD? I haven't bought it for my parents computer yet but they want to buy the upgrade CD and I hate upgrading OS's since it never turns out trouble-free. Clean install all the way.

Yes, as long as yoou have a win 98 or 95 cd around as a way for the winme to verify.The win upgradecds and the full version are exactly the same except the upgrade verifies you had on of the other systems.

Great since I found WIN98 FE for their Gateway/ANY OTHER system to be a disaster..... good Holiday present
