Win Me systray question

Two weeks ago I did a reformat and upgraded to ME from 98. I have the upgrade disc but did a fresh install with ME, only putting in my 98 disc for verification. Well last night I noticed when I hit Ctrl-Alt-Delete systray is not listed. I type run Msconfig and go to start up and systray is no where to be found. I thought systray had to run for the computer to work. Everything is fine and actually my resources are about 4% higher than they normally are. I have no idea when this happened. I was about to play on-line and I usually shut things down before I do, this is when I noticed it. Any ideas how to fix this or what may have happened? Thanks

As long as you actually HAVE the system tray in the bottom right hand corner with the TaskBar, then I wouldn't worry too much about it.

the 'systray' that shows up in the ctrl+alt+del list isn't actually the system tray. Its just the volume properties icon that shows up in the system tray. And it probably isn't the reason why resource usage is high on your machine. The system tray service is built into explorer and cannot be shut down. However the 'systray' can be turned off by going into Sound and Multimedia Properties..(I think..)

You cannot turn off the System Tray from Multimedia and Sounds. Ever had Explorer crash on you and then nothing is loaded in the System Tray? That's because the systray process is completely gone.
