Win ME - resets without warning

I've just installed Win Me with all the latest drivers and updates but it still resets without warning on occasions.

Can this be due to system restore, or cacheman 3.80 for 98 which I'm using?

One thing I have noticed, Win Me eats system resources for breakfast. One moment I have 80% free after reboot, the next minute after running a few programs i'm heading towards below 50! - this never happened on 98.

Have other people found settings that make this OS more reliable, or should I go back to 98 and wait for a 'Me' service pack to arise before using it?

I had the same problem. I figured it was WinME, so I booted up Win98. The problem persisted. Then it hit me, maybe my power supply is starting to fail. I switched it out and now both os's are running like a champ. This may not be your case but it worked for me. Also, if you did not already know AMD's are very tricky when it comes to what PS you use.

Hope this helps,
