I am experiencing the same issue, but in my case the primary IDE channel is disabled in BIOS. I am using an ABIT Hot Rod Pro ATA100 controller card, therefore negating the need for one of my IDE channels on my (FIC VA-503+ PCB 1.2a) motherboard. The VIA chipset is Apollo MVP3, 82C598AT, and VT82C586B. I am using BIOS version JE4330 from FIC's website (listed as Win Me compliant). System info tells me under problem devices code 22 for "ACPI IRQ Holder for PCI IRQ Steering" and code 29 for "Primary IDE controller (dual fifo)". Can I edit my registry in a similar manner to that shown in Q272586?

Thanks,

has the OS given an irq to primary channel? I think that you will find that it hasn't. I have a similiar sort of message with my primary ide disabled in system info but experience no running problems!
btw I use win98

No IRQ is assigned, but things tend to choke up and creep now and then. The only other problem listed is the PCI to ISA bridge, but I'm pretty sure I need to take that one up with VIA tech and/or FIC.

Thanks,
