Win+L is most useful when it shows the full list of users on the Welcome Screen instead of encouraging everyone to use the one that is displayed. For productivity reasons, I do not want to have a local password on my user account, but it's necessary to keep the other users of the workstation from logging-in with my account instead of clicking on "Switch User".
Is there a way to make Win+L go to the Welcome Screen instead of the locked screen? Is there a new/different key combination for this?
I find it annoying that the default behavior pretends to "lock" the system, even when there is no password. Sheesh! This only encourages the next user to log back in with the only click-able user icon immediately visible on the screen.
I only have separate user profiles so that my twin brother does not litter my directories with his unfinished attention-deficit scraps, which make it impossible for me to find my own files. I don't want to put a password on my user account, but it's the only way to encourage other users of the workstation to use their own damn profiles in Windows Vista. For the record, Windows XP did this correctly as long as Fast User Switching was enabled.
